Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to St John’s Stonefold CE Primary School. On behalf of our whole school community, may I extend a warm welcome and thank you for taking the time to find out more about our wonderful school. I hope our website gives you a clear sense of who we are — a vibrant, nurturing village school where every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish.

At St John’s Stonefold, the children are truly at the heart of everything we do. Rooted in God’s love, our school is a calm, safe, and joyful place to learn. Guided by our Christian EAGLE values and SOAR at Stonefold expectations, we create an environment where pupils feel secure, behave with kindness and integrity, develop positive attitudes to learning, and grow in confidence, character, and independence. We are proud that our children and staff enjoy coming to school every day and that they are motivated, resilient, and eager to contribute to our community.

As a Church of England school, we seek to live out the teachings of Jesus Christ by growing together as a loving school family. Our vision — “Rooted and established in God’s love: nurture, grow, fly” — is lived out in all areas of school life. Every member of staff is committed to ensuring that our children are nurtured, challenged, and inspired to be the very best they can be.

Our ambitious and carefully designed curriculum provides every child with their full entitlement to rich, coherent learning that builds knowledge securely over time. We make the most of our beautiful rural setting and create engaging, meaningful learning experiences that help children develop essential skills, creativity, curiosity, and resilience. Alongside this, we offer a wide range of fully inclusive extra‑curricular activities to ensure all children have opportunities to flourish and discover their gifts.

Strong relationships lie at the heart of our work. Through consistent expectations, clear routines, and a culture of care, we promote excellent behaviour and high attendance. We value and celebrate every child’s unique character, talents, and achievements. As a fully inclusive school, we ensure that all pupils — including those with additional needs — receive the right support at the right time so they can thrive academically, socially, spiritually, and emotionally.

Partnership is central to our success. We work closely with parents and carers, governors, the church, and our wider community because we know that when we work together, our children benefit. Everyone has a role to play in shaping a school community that is welcoming, supportive, and aspirational.

I hope our website gives you a glimpse into the amazing work that happens each day at St John’s Stonefold and why we are so proud of our school. We warmly welcome visitors, and I would be delighted to show you around so you can see our school in action.
