Avocet

Avocet Class is where your child embarks on their wonderful KS1 journey. Myself and Miss Brotherton are very much looking forward to all our exciting lessons this half term! We have a mixture of Year 1 and Year 2 children in this class.

Miss Lamb 

I feel very lucky to be teaching Year 1/Year 2 again this year. This is my 6th year teaching and my 3rd year teaching at St John’s Stonefold. I thoroughly enjoy working at our lovely school where the staff team are passionate about developing each child as an individual. I studied Primary Education at Edge Hill University and graduated with a First-Class Honours degree.

As well as my teaching role, I am proud to say that I am the Phonics coordinator, ensuring all children have the best start to reading and writing. I also have a passion for History and Geography, and I am delighted to have the role of History and Geography coordinator. Another one of my roles is to liaise closely with Father Simon and our Church to provide rich experiences for the children within worship.

Outside the classroom, I love to travel and explore new places and experience new adventures. As an avid reader, my bookshelf takes pride of place in my house. I love to read! I like to keep my mind and body healthy by enjoying yoga and swimming regularly.

As a teaching group, we aim to instill a love of learning, encouraging children to achieve their best, to learn from their mistakes and to have fun whilst doing it all! I am really looking forward to supporting the children to grow and learn this year!

Reading Books

Reading books will be changed on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please return your child’s reading book ready for the next book change day.

PE

PE is on Wednesday afternoons this half term. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school.

Forest School

Forest School takes place on Tuesday afternoons. Please ensure your child has appropriate outdoor clothing in school, along with wellies.
